BLENDING

Blending is a gradual process of mixing several ingredients together to become a new mixture. Sometimes it involves liquefying, sometimes chopping and grinding. Regardless of the action required, the result is always the same, several ingredients thoroughly combined together to become a unique new creation of oneness.

As I witnessed the marriage of one of my nephews this thought became crystal clear as it pertains to families or any other ‘mixture’ of people. The different individuals, personalities are all combined to create something new and different.

I watched the youth blending together to create what appeared as one massive unit. They became a blur of unity. All you could see were smiles. All you could feel was harmony. They simply knew how to include each other and blend into having a great time. Teaching and learning from each other the various dance steps. They allowed each other space and time to showcase their individual talents.

As the young adults and elders joined in, it grew and became a larger blur of unity. No one paid attention to age, race, height or weight. No concern was given to a person being on the dance floor without a partner because everyone was their partner.

The finished concoction was a perfect blending of not only two families but of multiple families. Each had come prepared to add their spice to this celebration of two wonderful souls who had vowed to blend into one unit; A Beautifully Blended Body of Oneness!
