I am consistently inspired by this group of amazing souls. They have been shunned by society, families and religious organizations. Some have been cast out, labeled as sinners, no good, and other rather harsh names. Yet to get to know them and to share in their lives is an honor to me.

What I know with certainty is that they are no different from me or you. They have not committed a sin for which God/Goddess is cursing them with the virus. Neither are they doomed to death while still living. They are alive and worthy of respect and dignity.

To be a part of this family has surely humbled me. My message is always the same, they each are a child of God/Goddess. Each made in the image and after the likeness of The Creator. God/Goddess loves them regardless, there can never be any separation between them and The Source.

This family is the most loving and gracious individuals I have met. The environment is always warm and friendly. Each supports the other in going through whatever challenge they may be facing. They demonstrate acceptance of one another.

I love and honor each person that I have come to know personally. As I give my best to them and expect the best from them, I am always gifted with wonderful outcomes. Each has gone beyond the labels, hurts and pains to grow into the most loving person they can be. I am very proud of each one.

As I celebrate my anniversary of being called into a Ministry serving God/Goddess’ children I ask you to examine your thoughts, words and deeds directed at any individual that you may have not been as lovable as you could be towards. Always remember, they too are a child of The Most High God/Goddess!

TRUTH IN LABELING

DSC00290

February 12th

Who are you?

During sessions with Common Ground, an AIDS support program in Atlanta we have discussed how labeling can and does affect an individual. Society shuns individuals by any number of labels we place on them. For instance, with my beloved family at Common Ground; some have been ridiculed for being gay, told they are sinners, contracted the virus because God is mad at them and God is disappointed in them therefore they will never get into heaven. So how does an individual fit in when their way of life is different from the majority? They choose to lie instead. So there are men in the group who have participated in the deceit and game of Down Low become they were compelled to be accepted. There are men in this group who have fully accepted and believed this nonsense of being no good about themselves. I shout it to the rooftops in my attempt to get them to see their value as a human. I tell them they are a CHILD OF GOD, period end of conversation.

I ask them not to allow anyone to label them. Just because someone has a different perspective on life does not make them or give them authority to ridicule, dishonor or call them names. Nor do these individuals have the right to do so.

Our only label is a CHILD OF GOD. Our true nature is of God. In that description of our very core and real identity there is no room and no need for labels such as man, woman, Black, White, believer, non believer, homosexual, married, Christian, Jew, Pastor or any other label.

Labels are used to create separation. God’s plan for mankind is for inclusion and unity. God’s plan is for unconditional love for everyone. When we are governed by labels and insistent on their use to define who we are then in fact we are causing separation in the body of God. No separation exists there.

I welcome all into my world. I was recently adopted by a Chinese friend who insists that I am now her sister. I am proud and honored to be considered a sister to this woman, who is a very wonderful person. I have no need to exclude folks from my reality. There is no separation in my reality.

Truth in Labeling – Who Are YOU?

NO SEPARATION

October 22nd

In the Unity of The Most High, there is no separation. In Unity there are no labels, no titles, and no names that cause us to be separate from one another. No religious doctrine, no theology, no barriers that separate are allowed in God’s Universe. God ordains Unity by exclusion of all else.

We can fool ourselves and become so enticed by what this physical world tells us we must do, to be granted certain rights and rewards. Or we can choose to accept that our goodness is from God, where there are no titles, no initials to tell others who we are.

Who I Am? I am neither white nor black, neither male nor female, neither Christian nor Jew. I Am a reflection of the One Creator.  I am all inclusive of the One Humanity of God. I Am proudly a Child of God. I do not wear, as a badge of achievement, any other title. I Am part of you, whoever you are.

There is no separation with God. So I Am also the homeless on the street or in the shelters. I Am the one infected with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other ailments. I Am the U.S. President and I Am a prisoner in the jails. I Am all nationalities, all religions, all genders. I Am the mother-less and father-less, I Am the orphaned. I Am the one in the hospitals, I Am the one with physical disabilities. I Am the widowed. I Am the abandoned. I Am YOU!

There is no separation in The Kingdom of God. Whoever you are and wherever you may be I Am one with you.

 There is no separation!

I welcome you with wide open arms of complete Acceptance. Why? Because that is how God created us to be, one with another! Sharing with and Serving one another.

December 8th – – Health and Wellness

A I D S

By Rev. Sandy Rodgers

Its been a very long time since we as a Nation have been rocked off our senses due to the introduction of one of the most dreadful dis-ease we have come to know in the 21st Century.

Fear was the main attribute of the dis-ease as it made the headlines,  mostly verbalized by the medical profession. Afterall the rest of us knew very little to nothing about this new malady that was killing people.  Then ignorance camouflaged as truth came flooding us with the erroneous facts that this dis-ease was restricted to a very small part of our population.  White gay men were the only ones contracting this dis-ease.

Our consciousness was shattered with the news of this thing that was so extremely ugly to even discuss. But that was okay because it ‘did not affect’ the majority of U.S. citizens. It was just those other people.  And we are sometimes quick to put the burden of blame and shame off on someone else. We hardly ever want to educate our self on any new issues. But its okay because we are so conditioned to believe what the media tells us is the truth.

Fear is a very strong emotion and can persuade people to behave in some very unhealthy ways towards other humans. Total isolation and condemnation from family and friends was the norm. Could not eat from the same plates or use the same utensils that someone who is infected had used.  Many infected individuals were reduced to sub-human conditions, no respect, no love, no comfort, no understanding.

As strange as it may seem, many of these same attitudes have never changed! People are still afraid of catching the dis-ease by embracing an infected individual; or being in the same area when they sneeze; or simply touching them! And if that’s not bad enough, because we are allowing fear and ignorance to control how we interact with others, we often cast these family members, friends, church members, co-workers to the side as if they are now somehow a worthless human.

It appears sometimes that we would rather remain ignorant of the facts than to get the knowledge that would help us to be better people, to eliminate the ignorance of the dis-ease. Oh and by the way did you know HIV is different from AIDS?

I remember being in the hospital room when someone I loved received an innocent blood transfusion. But what I witnessed was a complete contradiction to what should have taken place. What I saw first-hand was a violent, turbulent ,convulsing body;  a person in shock, shaking so hard they were jumping off the bed several inches into the air as a result of that blood entering their body. They were very peaceful before that needle was stuck into them and the blood released through the tube. I explained what I saw and no body dared acknowledge it as a possible concern. The person declined quickly after that and we all just kept quiet about that dreadful blood transfusion. Because it had been done in a hospital and that made it safe and okay!  Trust me on one wanted to admit this person may have contracted AIDS, even if it was through a medical procedure performed in a hospital. Today I ask could that blood been tainted?

So my question to you today is….What do you know about AIDS? Who did you learn it from? Have you ever been brave and bold enough to talk with someone that is infected? Have you ever considered how you might be able to help?

Yes I am suggesting you find out for yourself. There are AIDS Service Organizations across the nation that are more than willing and capable of educating you. They do classes and have literature for you to read and share with others.

Knowledge truly is Power.

HIV/AIDS

(Heavenly – Inspired – Valued)

© 2012 Sandy Rodgers Ministries Inc.

HIV/AIDS are dreaded diseases that affect and infect any and all of humanity.

A HUMAN DISEASE (Perhaps even manufactured in a laboratory by humans, in the quest for ____?)

The virus of HIV is not a gay person’s disease.

AIDS is not a restrictive disorder.

HIV/AIDS is not an African American disease – infecting multitudes, irrespective of sexual orientation.

There is NO place to hide from it.

However, you can protect yourself!

What is this thing that leaves so many without a parent, a child, a lover, a friend, a brother or a sister?

When do we offer it the respect it deserves?

When do we educate each other, so that the ignorance stops killing us?

When will we honor the person infected as a human being?

Why do we run from, hide, shun, disenfranchise the one infected?

Is this not the same person, whom yesterday you called Friend, Family?

My soul cries out because I see the tyranny of this cast upon souls whose only goal in life is to have LOVE, given and received.

Why do we allow fear to always mandate how we react, treat or interact with others?

Fear keeps the wounded bound, fear destroys the soul, and there is never ever any good in fear!

Choose LOVE!

It’s that simple.

Simply change our attitudes.
